About Scott Heather

I bring a strong foundation in accounting, audit, and financial systems, developed through roles in the aviation and professional services sectors—including WestJet Airlines, KPMG, and PwC. Over the past 4 years at WestJet, I’ve worked as a Senior Corporate Accountant, contributing to both core financial processes and key systems transformation initiatives. At WestJet, I lead critical components of the financial close process, including consolidation, intercompany accounting, and maintenance of the chart of accounts. I also manage the debt accounting portfolio, stock-based compensation (SBC), and compensation accounting. A major achievement was leading the end-to-end accounting consolidation for the Sunwing Airlines acquisition in 2023. In 2025, I’ve taken a central role in implementing the OneStream EPM platform to modernize consolidation, account reconciliations, and task management. I’m currently becoming proficient as a OneStream administrator and have completed several OneStream admin training courses to support this transformation. My skill set integrates accounting, audit, internal controls, financial reporting, and system implementation. I have hands-on experience with IFRS, ASPE, and US GAAP, and I’m proficient in JD Edwards and SmartView. Outside of my core responsibilities, I’ve participated in WestJet volunteer initiatives, including supporting the Calgary Food Bank and the Calgary United Way campaign. I earned my CPA designation in 2021 through CPA Alberta and hold a BBA in Accounting and General Management with a Finance minor from Mount Royal University.
