I have been the lead on projects ranging from process revisions, automation, enterprise services, software licensing, and asset management among others leading to my current role of IT CMS Manager.Early in my career my focus was on the specific details of what I needed to get done to solve a problem for a customer or fulfill a request as efficiently as possible. As I gained experience I learned that scope is absolutely critical for long term success. You must find all the stakeholders and bring them together and aligned on a solution or much of the potential value is lost. Modern approaches like scrum have really doubled down on this approach with a quick turnaround of working products and focus on customers.One of the things I learned recently is that alignment to the organizations goals is critical for realizing the best outcomes. Even with consensus on the approach it must be aligned to the organizations vision or it will become an unsupported legacy and not be leveraged across everyone leading to multiple processes attempting to solve the same problems.
