About Scott Kroeker

Scott Kroeker is a Senior Program Officer/Program Coordinator in the Center's Professional Development Program (PDP), currently co-leading the Japan Foundation-funded Indo-Pacific Leadership Lab (IPLL), and supporting other PDP programs as needed. Scott joined the Center’s Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP) as a research intern in 1998, and served as the webmaster and managing editor of the Pacific Islands Report, the Joint Commercial Commission Project Officer, and Interim Senior Manager of PIDP, helping the Program conduct many high-level intergovernmental meetings of the Standing Committee and the Pacific Islands Conference of Leaders (PICL), among other activities. After transferring to PDP in 2018, Scott coordinated the Pacific Islands Professional Fellows Programs for 6 years. That suite of programs, funded by the US Department of State, promoted economic empowerment through hands-on practical training and by facilitating the establishment of strong, enduring connections between industry professionals in the United States and the Pacific Islands. He holds an MA degree in Pacific Islands Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Resource Management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and a BS degree in Business Administration from Bethel College in Kansas. He follows political development in the Pacific Islands closely and previously served as the Political Reviews Editor for the Journal of the Contemporary Pacific.
