About Scott Lake

My current position as an Experimental Fluid Dynamics Engineer has given me an increased knowledge and experience with engine component testing. In addition, I have gained design experience and use of modeling and simulation tools such as Pro Engineer, ANSYS, and Flowmaster. My design projects range from simple flow fixtures to complete test rigs. Additionally, besides designing the flow fixtures necessary to properly flow a component, I determine the appropriate test method that is needed, work with the technicians with data collection, and then analyze the data and present it to the customer(s). Prior to obtaining my ME degree I worked as a diesel engine and heavy truck technician for 18 years. Throughout this time period I worked in diesel engine performance testing, diagnostics, transmission and differential rebuilding. I have also been trained as a Cummins Warranty administrator and was the warranty manager for a local Cummins distributor. All of this combined background, along with my lifelong interest in science and technology has given me a unique perspective that will hopefully lead to more robust designs and leave a lower carbon footprint on our environment.
