About Scott Malcolm

I am an experienced Deck Foreman and have worked offshore for over 30 years in the Oil and Gas Industry and I am currently in employment with Altera Infrastructure on the Hummingbird FPSO where I have been for 15 year’s. I have worked on a variety of different types of Oil installations (Production Platforms, Semi-Submersible Drilling rigs, Jack Ups and FPSO’s). I place a big emphasis on Health and safety in all the work scopes that I am involved in and have been a Safety Rep and Environmental Rep for numerous years. In my day to day job I am involved in the planning and Risk assessment of a wide variety of tasks and I am involved in planning the Emergency response plans and training for these tasks as is my requirement as per one of my emergency roles of Fire team leader. I am a qualified A1 Assessor in Level 3 Moving loads NVQ and Deck Operations Level 2 NVQ and have trained all Deck crew on my present Platform to these NVQ levels. I supervise and I am a member of a small multi skilled Deck crew team who perform all Crane operations, Rigging operations, Helicopter operations and various other tasks. I carry out all Emergency equipment inspections and training on related equipment such as Fire fighting Breathing apparatus, Escape sets, Rescue equipment and various types of Fire fighting equipment. Because I work as part of a small team, I understand the importance of teamwork and good relations to perform tasks safely and successfully. I have also performed Storekeeper duties as part of a dual role and have a lot of experience with dealing with Chemicals and Dangerous goods. I am a confident individual and always try to be helpful to others. Health and safety of myself and work colleagues is very important to me and i place a big emphasis on this in all day to day work schedule.
