About Scott Maren

I have worked in Retail and Business banking for 31 consecutive years, including employment at JP Morgan Chase, US Bank, and PNC Bank. I started as a Personal Banker at JP Morgan Chase in 1991, became an Assistant Branch Manager in 1994, and became a Branch Manager with US Bank in 1998. in 2003, I joined National City Bank(now known as PNC Bank) as a Branch Manager, first working in Countryside, Illinois, and then opening a Denovo office in Batavia, Illinois. In late 2005 I became a Business Banking Officer with PNC, eventually being promoted to a Senior Business Banker. In 2011 I took a position within PNC as a Market Loan Manager, managing the business banking loan portfolio for the Chicago and Wisconsin markets, and eventually the Northern Ohio market as well. In this role, I trained Business Bankers on the credit process, including packaging loans, writing credit memo's, conducting preliminary financial statement and cash flow analysis, and submitting loans to underwriting. I also scheduled formal prescreens with our underwriting partners. In 2019, I moved into our Healthcare Specialty Segment, acting as a consultant to the Healthcare Bankers across our entire footprint on all new money loan requests, and existing loans in the portfolio. I have received many awards at in my career, including multiple Sales Champion Awards, multiple Market All Star awards, and in 2022, a Circle of Excellence Award, one of the most prestigious awards at PNC. I have also been an active loan committee of the Small Business Loan Corporation, the largest Community Development Corporation in Illinois, reviewing SBA 504 loan requests in a committee format and voting on requests to approve or decline. Starting in early 2022, my wife, Jean, and I have actively volunteered for Digs With Dignity, a Chicago based organization that provides home furnishings for families who are transitioning from being homeless to a primary residence.
