I have an extensive clinical/operational background as a registered Nurse specialising in Operating department Nursing and have worked as a Health Planner since June 2004. Since then I have gained extensive experience as a healthcare planner advising on PFI, NHS LIFT and Procure 21 schemes. This has involved working both a Trust/Hospital advisor as well with Bid Consortia in the UK market and international markets. My experience also covers service performance review/redesign, utilisation analysis, model of care/ service development; and assessment of the patient’s environment including facilities, de-sign and clinical/service compliance within the context of currently accepted best practice and guidance. I have significant experience engaging with stakeholders in a structured manner and performing a ‘translation role’ to ensure effective delivery of project requirements and best practice etc. Coming from a clinical background I am able to apply my expert knowledge appropriately and to best effect. My knowledge of clinical practice also means I am not afraid to use my experience to develop projects and challenge even high-profile attitudes in order to achieve an optimum design solution for the client. I am quick to identify problems and suggest alternatives in the ab-sence of any formal briefing documentation and provide consistent and sound advice. I am able to challenge, assess and advance design responses to ensure the patient environment reflects best practice and evidence through collaborative working with design teams. I work across the whole patient care pathway - GMS/Primary care, secondary and tertiary services including Mental Health Specialties: Operational Management of Operating Theatres and Sterile Services Women's and Children's Services Mental Health and LD Laboratory Services Emergency and Critical Care
