About Scott McCormick

Dr. Scott McCormick has 47 years of international and domestic experience managing and implementing environment and natural resource management projects, including 30 years as a Senior Associate and Chief of Party at Tetra Tech ARD. An exceptional manager, leader, and facilitator, Dr. McCormick is able to effectively motivate teams to deliver quality technical assistance to a wide range of clients and has an excellent reputation for building consensus among diverse groups of stakeholders. He has provided exceptional guidance and management to field – based climate change adaptation, environment and natural resources projects while living in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean for over 22 years. Dr. McCormick is extremely proud of his efforts to sustain key components of the USAID/Southern Africa Integrated River Basin Management Project, the USAID/Jamaica Coastal Water Quality Improvement Project, the World Bank GEF China Nature Reserve Management Project and the USAID/Kenya and East Africa Planning for Resilience through Policy, Adaptation, Research and Economic Development (PREPARED) Project. Dr. McCormick has substantial expertise and practical, hands-on field experience in numerous technical disciplines, including climate change adaptation, water supply and environmental engineering, land use planning, biodiversity conservation, land tenure, environmental impact assessment, and community-based natural resources management. He has complemented his work overseas with substantial U.S. experience, having researched African sustainable agricultural issues for the U.S. Office of Technology Assessment, at the request of the House of Representatives Sub – Committee on Hunger; managed a $144 million wastewater grant program for the State of Wisconsin; and implemented several land use mapping contracts for rural towns in Vermont. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Land Resources, an M.A. in Agricultural Economics and a B.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering.
