About Scott Muldavin

Scott Muldavin, CRE, is President of The Muldavin Company, a private real estate strategy consulting firm. For the last 15 years, as Executive Director of the Green Building Finance Consortium, Senior Fellow with Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), and Senior Advisor to Delos, he has led the movement to scale sustainable property investment by fully integrating health, wellness, productivity, and other benefits beyond energy cost savings, into sustainable property investment decisions. Scott's sustainability work is founded on his 40 years of leadership in the real estate industry. In addition to leading The Muldavin Company, he was a lead real estate consulting partner at Deloitte; co-founded Guggenheim Real Estate, a multi-billion dollar private real estate company; served on the Advisory Board of Global Real Analytics, an adviser to $2 billion of REIT and CMBS funds; and has completed over 300 consulting engagements involving real estate finance, investment, valuation, securities, corporate real estate, and sustainability. Mr. Muldavin founded the Green Building Finance Consortium in 2007 and is a leader in sustainable property investment. His book:"Value Beyond Cost Savings", and subsequent publications, were the first to detail how to assess the financial performance of sustainable and healthy buildings. He has advised/collaborated with the Department of State, US General Services Administration, Urban Land Institute, CoreNet Global, BOMA International, the Institute of Real Estate Management, the National Association of Realtors, the US Department of Energy, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, National Institute of Building Sciences, Washington DC (PACE), the California Energy Commission and many others on a wide range of sustainability issues worldwide. Scott Muldavin was the 2017/2018 Chair of the Counselors of Real Estate, a global group of real estate leaders known for their thought leadership, integrity and industry engagement and is an author of over 200 publications. In 2023, he was awarded the prestigious Landauer/White award for his lifetime of achievements in the industry and society. Scott currently focuses on his non-profit activities, mentoring, and advising select companies on their strategies and analytics.
