About Scott Oakley

As a college basketball player, my coach recruited athletes that were not only great players, but also great students and great people. This strategy became known as The Package, and it is the defining characteristic of a college coaching career that has now amassed almost 800 wins. Despite only spending a few years playing for this coach and hanging up my shoes after graduation, this idea of being a great student-person-player has never been more applicable to my life and career. Through law school and into my career as an assistant district attorney, I understand that there is always more to learn. This is why I've maintained and will continue to maintain my position as a student of the law. In being a committed student, I've been able to become a successful "player" by winning dozens of trials and negotiating thousands of guilty pleas. And lastly, I've done my best to be a good person by both zealously advocating on behalf of victims when appropriate, but also not being afraid to modify or dismiss a case when justice requires it. Furthermore, I believe strongly in contributing to community, which is why I take an active interest in the lives of my coworkers and courthouse staff, as well as volunteer coach basketball and volleyball at the YMCA and for Salisbury High School. To put it all simply, I love my job, I love to improve, and I love to treat people well. If you're the same way, then let's connect!
