About Scott Ofarrell

Scott is a degreed Plastics Engineer employed as a Manufacturing Liaison Engineer within Boeing's Advanced Developmental Composites (ADC) organization. Within his group, Developmental Test & Emergent (DT & E), Scott has focused primarily on supporting developmental work for the New Mid-Market Airplane (NMA) composite wing. Prior to his position at the ADC, Scott worked as an ME for wing, 737 Flight Controls and 787 interiors. Before his service at The Boeing Company, Scott was heavily involved in Western Washington University Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers). Formula SAE is a design competition where students and faculty collaborate to design, manufacture, and develop a purpose built racing vehicle. Among many achievements, the most notable was earning third place in the design event and sixth overall in the teams first attempt at a composite monocoque chassis. Western Washington's FSAE program is ranked 21 of 497 teams worldwide (2008). Scott is actively working toward obtaining his private pilot license as a hobby and to increase his knowledge of aeronautic principles. Outside of work he is involved in many activities including: Auto-racing, karting, motorcycling, cycling/triathlon, and mechanical garage projects.
