About Scott Pardoel

I have always had a keen interest in software and have been driven by a strong desire to help people. I was able to merge the two during my graduate studies and post-doctoral work by designing and developing assistive devices and walking aids for people with mobility issues as such as Parkinson’s disease. Over the last 5 years, as a PhD student and post-doctoral researcher, I have used my strong analytical skills and attention to detail to develop various machine learning models to identify patterns in wearable sensor data to address real world problems. Through my work, I have gained experience with signal processing, machine learning, software development as well as project design and academic publication. I have primarily worked in Matlab and have experience with Python and C++. I enjoy working in the biomedical field, but I welcome the opportunity to develop my skills and create a positive impact in new areas.
