A graduate of Rhodes College and Tulane Law School, Scott Peatross has practiced law since 1996. Scott Peatross focuses his practice on representing people and businesses in probate court cases. Scott Peatross handles numerous probate cases as counsel for Executors/Administrators, creditors, trustees, beneficiaries, conservators and guardians. This work helps families and businesses successfully navigate the probate process. Scott Peatross has served as Shelby County’s Public Administrator in the Probate Court since 2005. During that time, Scott Peatross has handled hundreds of probate cases in his capacity as Public Administrator. By the nature of the position, the cases to which the Public Administrator is appointed are sometimes the most difficult and challenging estates on the Probate Court’s docket because of contentious litigation or misconduct by a previous fiduciary Scott Peatross lectures on aspects of probate law to community groups and to lawyers in CLE seminars. Scott Peatross occasionally serves as Substitute Judge in Probate Court, when requested by the probate judges.
