About Scott Retzlaff

I have worked in college athletics for 20-plus years in communications & digital media roles. I’m currently the web & app manager for Legends/University of Wisconsin Athletics, a role that I've held since November of 2024. I spent 2012-23 at the University of Nebraska, Texas A&M University, Kansas State University, & the University of Texas. My roles have typically been hybrid type of positions where I assisted with official websites, mobile apps, social media, event coverage, feature writing, press conference coverage, etc. for a wide variety of teams. I also frequently traveled with teams to help cover key games and tournaments. I have worked with SIDEARM Sports during my time at Texas A&M, K-State, Texas & now at Wisconsin. Prior to my DI experience, my athletics career started with nearly eight years at the DII and NAIA levels. I spent five years in the sports information office at Wayne State College, first as a student-worker from 2004-07 and then as graduate assistant sports information director from 2007-09. I then spent nearly three years as sports information director at Concordia University (Neb.) from 2009-12. I assisted with communications for 14 and 18 teams, respectively, during those years. I earned a pair of degrees from Wayne State College. I started with a bachelor's degree in Human Service Counseling with a minor in criminal justice in 2007 and added a master's degree in Sport & Recreation Management in 2009. I'm a native of Pierce, Nebraska, and a 2003 graduate of Pierce High School.
