About Scott Russell
I have two semesters remaining at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, pursuing a B.S. in Engineering Mechanics and Aerospace, complimented with a certificate in Computer Science. During my time at UW-Madison, I have continuously looked to expand my breadth of knowledge by obtaining experiences in different areas, gaining new insights from each. I have research experience in a material science lab focussing on alloy design and development of high entropy alloys, and currently work in the Computational Flow Modeling lab investigating flow separation and induced drag on a dual diameter rocket. Projects I have worked on include a multi-function hand prosthesis, 10 high powered model rockets, rocketry air-brakes, hybrid rocket engine static fire test stand, and a live telemetry flight computer. As a member of UW-Madison's AIAA chapter, I hold a position on the leadership board as the Operations and Logistics Manager. In the club's return to Spaceport America Cup, I am continuing my position as the Avionics team lead.
