About Scott Shafer

I am an experienced educator, leader, and scholar with deep expertise in business process design, business analytics, and strategic planning. My research, consulting, and teaching interests are in the areas of business analytics, supply chain management, and business process process design/improvement (e.g, six sigma, lean management, cellular manufacturing, reengineering). I was ranked in the top 20 in terms of both publication quality and research productivity in a study published in a leading academic journal investigating the productivity of 738 researchers in the field of operations management. I am also a co-author of five books in the fields of operations management, project management, and quantitative business modeling. I am a well rounded and seasoned leader with a track record of tangible results. I have served in a variety of leadership roles including faculty leadership roles, program leadership roles, and officer roles in professional organizations. My success and accomplishments as a leader are driven by my natural tendency to think strategically and holistically coupled with the ability and passion to execute detailed and sophisticated analyses.
