I have worked in Healthcare for 30+ years with a focus on Customer Service. Starting at the ground level, I learned early on that it takes a lot to earn the trust of a customer or patient, but only seconds to lose it. In my time on the "payer" side of healthcare, I have answered patient and physician calls, reviewed claim adjustment requests and appeals, worked one-on-one with physician offices, and managed an incredible team of individuals who's goal was to make a positive difference in the way healthcare is provided in the Capital District. Whether it was the impact on HEDIS initiatives, or assisting a physician office with their day-to-day workflows, the Provider Service Specialists Team and Network Operations Team at CDPHP always gave 100%. After nearly two decades on the "payor"-side, I decided to move to the physician-side of healthcare. I was appointed to the role of Office Manager/Director of Accounts at Gabriels' Eye MDs. Along with the physicians and office team at Gabriels Eye MDs, we implemented an electronic medical records system (EMR) and successfully attested with CMS for the Phase 1 incentive for Meaningful Use for that practice. Since 2014, I have been the Office Manager of Hoosick Street Pediatrics in Troy, NY. I have developed and implemented office policies and procedures, as well as clarified and documented job descriptions. During this time, we have successfully attested to CMS Meaningful Use requirements and consistently meet or exceed QARR and HEDIS measures. In 2019, our physician (Dr. Albert) was recognized as one of the "Top Doctors" in the Capital District, in several categories. In addition, we were certified as a CAQH Patient Centered Medical Home. During my lifetime, I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by musicians. For several years, I worked and toured with the band freebeerandchicken - a very talented jamband who toured the northeastern United States during the "jamband boom" of the late 90's. I worked with the band as a sound engineer, lighting technician, and road manager. Working with such creative individuals helped form my perspective on being a part of a team and shaped my management style.
