About Scott Shields

I have over 35 years of experience in environmental policy, federal grants / compliance, and permitting. My background covers a wide range environmental issues which includes groundwater contamination and investigations, soils and plant pathology, Soil erosion and acquiring environmental permits for construction projects, design and maintenance of native landscapes and vegetation for pollinator insects/monarch butterfly, asbestos monitoring and abatement, Landfill groundwater contamination, serve as Kansas Byway Coordinator, review federal highway grant applications concerning scenic and environmental issues. Manage the State of Kansas Historical Marker program as well as oversee manage historical/cultural/native american reviews (section 106) for highway projects and also manage the Noise Study program. I have developed many speaking presentations related to my work and attend many public meetings to provide technical assistance and guidance as needed. I supervise several staff members dealing with the issues mentioned above. I am highly motivated, very positive, and strive to be consistent and a professional at everything I do.
