SCOTT M. STEVENSON is a partner in the litigation group and leads the firm’s medical malpractice team in the Charlotte, North Carolina, office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP. His principal areas of practice are physician and nursing negligence, as well as nursing home, assisted living and hospital negligence, and compliance issues. He has successfully defended physicians in court from virtually every medical specialty. Areas of specialty and expertise include general surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, neurology, urology, radiology and anesthesiology. He is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina, all three districts of the U.S. District Court in North Carolina, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has appeared and argued in both Appellate Courts in the state court system of North Carolina, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Specialties: Mr. Stevenson has extensive experience in medical malpractice throughout the last two decades, and has tried cases on behalf of physicians, nurses, hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living centers, in virtually every county throughout Western North Carolina.
