About Scott Trevithick

Hi, I'm Scott Trevithick. Originally from London, Ontario, I've always had a passion for history, which led me to pursue a PhD at the University of Toronto, focusing on Canadian and Aboriginal history. Growing up, my parents took me on amazing trips all over the world, and I fell in love with exploring different cultures. After six years in my PhD program, I realized that the solitary nature of research wasn't for me. I was drawn to technology and its potential to make a tangible difference in people's lives. I began working at a small computer recycling shop and, through a lot of self-directed study and hands-on experience, I landed a part-time IT role at Reconnect Mental Health Services, an adult mental health organization in Etobicoke. That role eventually grew into a full-time IT manager position, which I held for about a decade. In 2014, I co-founded Asurtec with my friend and colleague Bill LeBlanc. We wanted to build a company that provided reliable and robust IT services to the community-based organizations we had become familiar with in our careers in the community sector. I truly believe that a company's success hinges on its people. I'm passionate about building a strong team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. I look for individuals with great character and a willingness to learn because those qualities are essential for growth. This philosophy has helped us build a strong, talented and thriving team. Thanks to this approach, Asurtec has grown steadily through word of mouth, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished. As we evolve and continue to meet our clients' needs and empower them through technology, I'm excited to continue to grow Asurtec so that one day we can help community-based organizations all across Canada.
