About Scott Wakefield

I am an experienced Safety Advisor with a demonstrated history of working in residential building industry, high risk manufacturing industries, consultancy work with a range of small to medium businesses and the education/training sector. I have a passion for working with stakeholders and contractors in the area of culture change and education people about laws, legislation and finding practical ways to meet good safety outcomes. I have developed good understanding on both the OSH and WHS Act and the associate legislation ways to meet compliance while ensuring risk is managed as low as possible in the most practical means possible. I have experience in workers compensation, enabling return to work and reducing workplace injuries. I have a high level of analytical skills, that are applied WHS, Cognitive development for education and training delivery and the delivery of training to a range of levels and audiences. I have a strong focus on continuous improvement to achieve the outcomes we set and a firm belief in the concept "it is not the paper we generate that saves lives but the actions we take." I have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in OHS. I have completed accredited training in TAPROOT, ICAM and Lead Auditor for AS/NZ 48001:2001. I hold Certificate IV TAE, a Bachelor of Education with a certificate II qualification in engineering. I have developed a range of safety management systems including the implementation processes. I review the business safety systems in both the written and workplace processes. I conduct an audit using an AS/NZ 4801 compliant tools.
