Professional Engineer with 20 years of energy experience comprising of: over 10 years of progressive upstream oil and gas leadership including successfully managing an operations department of 130+ people and 3 gas plants; over 10 years of production engineering experience including CBM, Cardium oil and Foothills sour gas; managed 5 superintendents across varying geographical areas and 7 foreman; cross-functional experience leading Operations, Production Engineering, Supply Chain, and Business Development departments; 2 years hands-on field ops experience and 18 years corporate experience. High business acumen and in depth understanding of the oil & gas business knowing how all departments fundamentally integrate which allows me to effectively problem solve, drive optimization, facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, enhance credibility, mitigate risk, build relationships, and improve cost efficiency. Proficient with data analytics using Power BI integrated with data cubes to conceptualize, analyze, and streamline company reporting across all departments (Finance, Production Accounting, Joint Venture, Operations, HSE, D&C, HR). Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification which adds to my skillset of driving change management and continuous improvement programs. I am also a huge proponent of continuous learning. Experience hiring, recruiting, and managing large, multi-discipline teams across a broad geographical area as well as leading union and non-union work environments which cultivated me to become excellent at facilitating, liaising, problem solving, risk mitigating, optimizing, influencing, and strategic planning. Estimated, forecasted, and managed expenditures of a $150MM annual operating expense budget and have also generated technical scope of work for new Cardium development (200+ wells). What I bring to the table is a balance of achieving cost/revenue targets with developing collaborative relationships. Sometimes a leader can be too cost and tactical focused, which can translate into high safety incidents and high turnover, or too people focused which turns into missed cost and volume’s targets. I am excellent at managing and prompting the needs of the people while meeting the regulatory, safety, production, and revenue needs of the business.
