About Scott Wallace

I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Washington, Michael G. Foster School of Business. I have spent the last decade exploring how decision processes during consumer goal pursuit influence satisfaction, motivation, consumption choices, and wellbeing. My work has been published in the Journal of Consumer Research and in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. I am passionate about advancing our understanding of how consumers make decisions and how those decisions impact marketers, managers, and our every day lives. For the last seven years, I have taught marketing principles, strategy, and consumer behavior across undergraduate, graduate, and M.B.A. cohorts. I enjoy educating and supporting the next round of talented practitioners as they embark to make their own positive contributions to our world. Outside of work, you can find me exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest with my wife and two young sons, visiting a local coffeeshop, or enjoying the latest podcast on a long run.
