Wikipedia - Scott S. Weiss is an American businessman and author. Weiss was a prominent executive at Turner Broadcasting Corporation for over a decade. In 1994, Weiss moved into the field of communication consulting with Speakeasy Inc. Speakeasy is a growing 52-year-old global communication consulting firm with offices in Atlanta, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Amsterdam, as well as ongoing operations in Boston, Dubai, London, and Singapore. The company works with executives from the Fortune 500 on the effectiveness of their communication capabilities, both delivery and strategy. Last year the company worked with executives in 10 countries on 6 Weiss is the author of the Axiom Gold Medal Winner and Amazon best selling book DARE, “Accepting the Challenge of Trusting Leadership,” and has been featured in Forbes, Inc, Fortune, CNN Money, CEO Today, and other publications. Prior to joining Speakeasy in 1994, Weiss spent ten years at Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. as an Executive Vice President in charge of satellite distribution for all Turner networks and Corporate Vice President of Special Projects reporting to CEO, Terry McGuirk. He founded Turner Private Networks, a Division he established where he created several new ventures including CNN Local Edition The Checkout Channel, and the CNN Airport Channel. Weiss is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the T. Howard Foundation in Washington DC that promotes opportunity and inclusion in the media, technology, and entertainment industry, a topic Weiss is very passionate about. Weiss has served on the Board since 1993. He has also held Board seats at EO Atlanta, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Start Up Atlanta, and Emory University. Weiss served as a “Emmy” voting member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for 34 years. Weiss graduated in 1981 from Michigan State University from the College of Communications, Arts, and Sciences, and received the Alumni of the Year Award in 2019. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Georgia Tech University.
