I am a CTA and FCCA qualified tax accountant with over 15 years of experience working in tax which has given me a wide range of exposure to different areas of taxation. I have had extensive experience in preparing corporate tax returns and personal tax returns for company directors, sole traders, partners, small landlords and high net worth individuals with a wide variety of different income sources including substantial property portfolios, shares in owner managed companies and investments including EIS and SEISS. Many of the clients I was responsible for were corporate groups. I have had experience in dealing with complex group relief calculations, for example where R&D relief is a factor and other companies in the group can benefit at full rate vs surrender of losses for a smaller credit. I have been involved in advising clients in relation to incoming and exiting shareholders and the associated tax implications of proposed transactions and have had experience in preparing pre-transaction clearance requests for share for share exchanges and for purchase of own shares transactions. I have experience advising clients who are seeking to acquire commercial premises in relation to the most appropriate structure for the acquisition and have good knowledge of the VAT aspects involved in commercial property transactions.
