About Scott Yoste

I am an attorney based in Guntersville, Alabama with a practice focusing on workers' compensation defense, general liability defense, and contract disputes. I have practiced with Markow Walker, P.A. for nearly six years, with the majority of that time spent in the Oxford, Mississippi office. In 2020, the firm tasked me with opening its first office outside of Mississippi which we located in Guntersville, Alabama. Guntersville is a small town located on Guntersville Lake, a damned up portion of the Tennessee River. The town is the county seat of Marshall County, Alabama and is centrally located between Huntsville and Birmingham, two of the largest metros in the state of Alabama. Originally from Plano, Texas, a suburb in the DFW metroplex, I moved to Oxford, Mississippi in 2006 to attend the University of Mississippi where I studied finance. I then attended law school at Ole Miss and graduated with honors in 2014. I practiced in Jackson, Mississippi for a year before moving back to Oxford. In Oxford, I served as treasurer and then president of the Lafayette County Bar Association. In 2020, I made the decision to move to Guntersville to be with my now wife, Kelsey. We have two dogs: a three-year-old golden retriever, Belle, and a one-year-old English Springer Spaniel, Sadie. Outside of work, I spend most of my time playing with the dogs, working on our new home, running, cooking, and watching football and baseball with friends.
