About Scotty Freeman

With over 18 years of experience leading sales teams and over 22 years (with a brief sojourn in meat delivery) recruiting across a range of disciplines, I have gained valuable insights into what it takes to source, select and develop talent at all levels. Having worked in the UK and New Zealand, with exposure to SMEs and large corporates plus having completed post-graduate studies, I have a sound understanding of the business and people challenges faced by companies today. With the demographic challenges faced by New Zealand, never has there been a more compelling time to refresh your talent attraction and retention strategies. I can help with both! Having previously been a GM Sales with P&L and strategic responsibility, I have sat in the shoes of many of the leaders I now work alongside. This is has given me a more enriched and empathetic view when consulting on all things sales. It also means I understand the strategic and cultural imperatives, ensuring the ‘right type’ of person is found for a particular point in time. As there becomes more strain on New Zealand’s engine room, I am also particularly passionate about using innovative approaches to bolster our diminishing workforce. This has led to the creation of Apprento, New Zealand's first 'talent and learning platform' that is focused on growing sales people.
