Senior Software Developer at a telemedical company in Halifax, where I've spent the last 4 years growing from developer to the primary technical decision maker. In a small company environment, I've had the opportunity to own our entire technology stack—infrastructure, architecture decisions, development processes, and team mentoring. What I do day-to-day: I maintain our platform that processes supports acute telehealth consultations. This includes managing our microservices architecture, database performance, and the full development lifecycle from planning to deployment. Technical approach: I focus on building systems that I can actually maintain and debug. That means structured logging, proper error handling, and making architectural choices that fit our team size and scale. I've implemented Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and established development practices that prevent the most common operational headaches. Healthcare context: Working in telehealth has taught me to think about data consistency, system reliability, and compliance from day one. When your software is part of patient care workflows, you develop different priorities around testing, monitoring, and change management. Currently expanding my expertise in Kubernetes and AWS to take on larger technical challenges. I'm interested in backend architecture and distributed systems work, particularly in environments where technical decisions have real-world impact
