About Sean Callery

I’m an experienced digital communications professional, specialising in digital content strategy and leading cross-functional teams to achieve organisational goals. I have developed content strategies, launched websites and rebrands, and managed high-performing teams at multiple organisations, from large corporates to boutique agencies and start-up brands. I have international experience across Australia, the UK and Ireland. My working style is collaborative, analytical and flexible. This has allowed me to build relationships, improve processes and achieve results at multiple organisations in different sectors. Currently I'm the Editor of personal finance publisher Money.com.au. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, I'm responsible for editorial strategy and content output for the fast-growing Money site as well as several other websites in the Group. I’ve built and now lead a high-performing content team, offering leadership and direction on all areas of content strategy and execution. I work closely with the company founder and other members of the Senior Leadership team to develop business strategy and ensure our content aligns to company goals. In my time here, Money’s editorial and content strategy has contributed to the organisation achieving significant organic growth. We have successfully launched several new product categories by leveraging organic content, which has introduced new revenue sources for the business. Prior to this I was Deputy Editor at Canstar, Australia's biggest financial comparison site, where I led a team of journalists that informed, educated and empowered Australian consumers across a broad range of finance and lifestyle topics. Before joining Canstar, I oversaw the content strategy at Australia’s largest credit union, Great Southern Bank (previously Credit Union Australia). Before that, I lived and worked in Edinburgh in the UK and held various comms and advertising roles (in-house and agency side). Some of the brands I worked with in the UK include the Law Society of Scotland, the Scottish Government, Road Safety Scotland, Irn-Bru, Tennent's Lager, Cycling Scotland, Historic Scotland, the Loch Ness Marathon and Scottish Power. Casting the timeline back a little further, I cut my teeth in local and national newspaper and radio journalism in Ireland. Being the underage football correspondent for my local newspaper, and making heroes of kids on the pages of their local paper, is still one of my career highlights.
