About Sean Clement

My passion is leading groups of motivated analysts, helping them reach their develop goals, and building teams to face the hardest problems head on. I bring 7 years of experience in data science and 15 years in the US Army leading troops overseas and in combat. My journey into data science has been extremely rewarding including being named as Analyst of the Year by both the US Army Operations Research Society and the Military Operations Research Society in 2021. Increased efficiency of the US Army flight training program by 9% using data driven insights. Built the industry leading player evaluation framework blending 500 years of scouting experience with the latest in Machine Learning and AI technologies. Executive support in both the public and private sector - helping decision makers at the highest levels turn data into actionable insights. Built spatiotemporal deep learning models for multiple NFL franchises. Significant leadership experience from deploying 160+ soldiers to Afghanistan to cross-functional teams in football analytics. Research lead on selecting vendors for $1.6B in DoD contracts. Lead planner for all contingency operations for US Army Europe involving over troops and $300M in equipment across two continents. As VP of Football Operations I help shape the strategic direction of SumerSports by communicating directly with NFL and NCAA football teams about their challenges and integrating their feedback into our overall product vision. I am extremely passionate about the future of data science and using data to inform decision making at the highest levels.
