About Sean Collison

With 13+ years in life sciences, my expertise spans plant and human genomics, genome manipulation, epigenetics, recombinant protein vectors, cell screening assays, and single-cell drug discovery. I have contributed across academic, biotech, pharma, and commercial environments globally. Over the past seven years in commercial automation, I have focused on making drug discovery strategies and healthcare diagnostics a reality by leveraging automation technologies and collaborating with experts to build world-class pipelines. My strong molecular biology background, particularly in DNA manipulation, has been central to my work. As a research scientist in single-cell discovery, I collaborated across protein science, cell biology, and target validation, gaining deep insight into drug discovery. My career has also been marked by a solid foundation in genomics automation, where I helped support a market-leading NGS automation platform and fostered strong partnerships with genomics providers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I led genomics automation projects across EMEA, managing international technical collaborations for sequencing automation. I also built and led an international application support team, hiring and training experts across Europe. Currently, I design multi-million-pound high-throughput automation platforms, working across diverse life science areas to tailor solutions to client needs. My experience ensures the successful integration of automation technologies for complex workflows.
