About Sean Dolan

My experiences have included, but are not limited to, serving as Deputy General Manager of Operational & Strategic Support/Chief of Staff at NJ TRANSIT, one of the largest statewide public transit systems in the United States. NJ TRANSIT operates commuter rail service in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor Line between Trenton, New Jersey and New York, NY, including 11 additional lines throughout New Jersey. In this role, I plan, coordinate, and direct the day-to-day operations of all train service in the Hoboken Division, Newark Division and New York Penn Station. I direct, through subordinate management, System Operations, Rules Department, Consist Management, Service Planning Department, Crew Management and Rail Revenue. I react to service disruptions, coordinate with other operating agencies and perform public relations. I direct external relations with customers, local officials, advisory boards and adjacent property owners. In addition, I direct the implementation and administration of NJ TRANIST ‘s System-Wide Rail Safety Program. I also conduct employee and passenger forums. Prior to joining the NJ TRANSIT, I was fortunate to have served my country in the US Navy for 4 years. During that time, I was an Operation Specialist, where I monitored and tracked all actions of ships and aircraft in the cruiser’s sector using RADAR. I supervised and directed the Combat Information Center personnel in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities. I also interpreted and evaluated all collected data from the CIC crew and trained new recruits on current RADAR systems, daily maintenance, and safe operating conditions. I am qualified in firefighting and damage control.
