Background
About Sean Maher
I am a graduate of DCU with a Bachelors in electronic and computer engineering with a major in system and devices. I was part of the Hyperloop team that represented Ireland at SpaceX during my first year of university. After my final year project where I designed and simulated a very low frequency radio observatory, I've found a particular interest in signal processing and the simulation of electronics in programs such as LTspice. I am currently employed at Intel where I've been cost lead for my Team, ensuring that the budget for maintenance etc was kept under target and created and tracked projects that would reduce our cost of manufacturing. I am also the owner for Cranes and hoists ensuring they are regularly inspected and certified, implementing safety improvements and following up on any safety incidents and how it can be avoided in the future. As a process engineer in Intel my day to day is a mixture of the roles I have described above however it involves a lot of troubleshooting using different problem solving models, statistical analysis, a good knowledge of the tools hardware and software as well as the physics/engineering of the process. I find issues with RF systems the most interesting as well as issues with the robotics on the tool and how they interact with different tool components to ensure the wafer is handled correctly. One of my responsibilities as an engineer is to ensure that our manuals/guides are continuously improved. I've also successfully managed projects which involved the removal of tools from the fab where I was responsible for safety sign offs, ordering parts, working with other intel teams documentation, managing technicians and keeping on schedule. My most recent project involved a long term stay in America working with the Intel Technology Development team in Oregon to succesfuly transfer a tool and process crucial to the start up of Intels Foundry Model
