About Sean Martin

I was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and spent most of my childhood in West Springfield Massachusetts. I went to school in Loudonville, NY (Siena College) where I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant through the ROTC program at Siena College. I am passionate about technology and learning how things work. As a child, I would disassemble and reassemble just about anything I could get my hands on! I loved to understand how things worked and try to fix anything that was broken. These are some of the reasons why I want to be an IT Professional! When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, my wife Liz, and two boys Caleb and James. I worked for the U.S. Army as a Battalion Operations Officer at a Basic Training Unit. My job was to help develop and plan the training for the next generation of US Soldiers. I have served my nation for 10 years in operational and technical roles. I have held multiple commands and management positions for which I was responsible for overseeing up to 250+ personnel and over 150 million dollars worth of equipment. I loved my time in the U.S. Army, but it is time that I transition out of the Army and focus on a civilian career as an Information Technology professional. I am extremely excited about this transition and breaking into the tech industry that I love so much! I look forward to networking and linking up with other cybersecurity and IT professionals while also better understanding the industry and what it takes to be an asset to their team. I love being part of and leading teams. One of the greatest skills and passions of mine in the Army was being a servant leader and allowing those I lead to flourish with the skills they developed while serving. I am easygoing, enjoy helping and mentoring others, and love learning about technology. I currently hold a CompTIA A+ certification and Active Secret Clearance. I am currently pursuing certifications in both CompTIA Net+, and Sec+. Looking for positions in Information Technology as an IT Support Tier I or II.
