About Sean Mayo

Mr. Mayo is a partner of Gavel & Dorn Engineering and is a civil engineer with over twenty years of progressive experience in all aspects of civil engineering with an expertise in land development design and water resources. Skills include civil site layout, new water and sewer main design, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, roadway design, water and sanitary sewer utilities, grading, erosion and sedimentation control, storm water drainage, and storm water management including BMP detention/water quality facilities. Mr. Mayo works with a client base that includes both private and public entities and has completed projects in multiple jurisdictions throughout North and South Carolina and Georgia. Mr. Mayo’s land development experience includes industrial, multi-family and single family development. Recent land development projects include the Yards of Noda Apartments, the Noda 20 Apartments and the Spencer Street Single Family project. Mr. Mayo served as lead design engineer on the Modular Office Building Installation Project, Hechenbleikner Dam Rehabilitation Project, CAB Culvert and Cameron Boulevard culvert replacement projects and Botanical Gardens Study (and others) for UNCC. Mr. Mayo roles also have included design engineer/project manager for various City of Charlotte Stormwater Services water quality enhancement projects including the Ashley Farm Pond Rehabilitation project and the McDonald Pond Rehabilitation project.
