Hi! As someone who has worked in many different IT environments from corporate to small business IT, I’ve always noticed a certain stigma surrounded many IT professionals…. this was that we all looked like the stereotypical “IT GUY”. This bothered me more and more as the years went on and what I ended up doing was changing the stigma of what people saw in the IT environment I wanted to bring a paradigm shift to what the world envisioned how people in the IT field looked. As I pursued my master’s degree, I also worked to keep the IT position attractive by keeping my wardrobe updated and more importantly keep my mind and body regularly exercised. From my experience working at help desks and service centers is that the eating habits are wait leads to lingering health issues such as high blood pressure, carpal tunnel, and excessive weight gain. As I progress my IT career, I will focus promoting a healthy lifestyle in and outside the work environment and influencing anyone who wants to make that quantum leap to a better lifestyle! As a former high school and collegiate athlete, I often struggled with running with the faster kids that we competed against. What I trained myself as I have gotten older is how to run faster and become more agile more effectively while preventing injuries to the knees. I focused on getting my SAQ certification and trained NFL and Collegiate athletes become faster, quicker, and agile; along with helping all age groups meet their individual fitness goals.
