About Sean Nix

Sean Nix, M.Eng, RPP, FITE is the Manager of Transportation Operations at the Region of Peel, following an over-10-year career in the Ontario college system where he served as full-time faculty and Associate Dean. He continues to serve as a Sessional Faculty at McMaster University in the Civil Engineering Infrastructure Technology Stream of their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree completion program. Sean has professional experience in both municipal and private practice. His previous municipal experience primarily included access management, traffic and land development review. Prior consulting experience included preparation of traffic impact studies, road safety audits and reviews, traffic capacity and level-of-service analysis, travel time data collection, route planning and financial feasibility analysis for electronic toll and traffic management schemes for clients in the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario, Northeast Corridor and West Coast of the United States, and select districts in the United Kingdom. Beyond the world of transportation, Sean has over 22 years of experience as a professional chorister, with performances across Canada and the United States, and in England and South Africa. He is an experienced section-lead and soloist with perfect pitch, low range (B two octaves below middle C), and boasts PARAMOUNT sight-reading skills.
