About Sean Oday

With over 20 years of experience in government administration, public policy development, and legal advising, I am a seasoned executive and a strategic leader in the public sector. I currently serve as the Deputy Director at the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (ODCBS), where I oversee the agency's operations, budget, and performance, and ensure the delivery of quality services to Oregonians.My core competencies include strategic planning, financial management, project management, intergovernmental relations, and regulatory enforcement and compliance. I also have a strong background in law, having earned a J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and a M.S.L. from the U.S. Army War College. I have served as a Judge Advocate for the U.S. Army Reserve and the Oregon Army National Guard, and as a legal counsel for various public and private organizations, including the Governor's Office, the Oregon Supreme Court, and the League of Oregon Cities. I have extensive experience in appellate and legislative advocacy, complex transactions, real estate, redevelopment, energy and environmental law, municipal law, and administrative law. I am passionate about advancing the public interest, fostering collaboration, and enhancing the quality of life for Oregonians.
