Background

About Sean Ouellette

I’m a Computer Science student at Merrimack College (Class of 2026) with a deep passion for software engineering, data-driven problem solving, and building technology that makes a measurable difference. My experience ranges from backend web development in Flask and WordPress to designing functional languages and implementing real-time Java networking systems. As President of Merrimack’s Computer Club and an experienced peer tutor, I’ve learned that technical excellence means little without collaboration, clarity, and curiosity. I thrive in environments where I can bridge theory and practice whether it’s mentoring students through complex algorithms, optimizing site performance for clients, or contributing to research-driven projects like predictive modeling for infrastructure. What I bring- Proven experience in backend development, web technologies, and data analysis- Leadership and teaching experience through tutoring and club presidency — translating complex concepts into approachable insights- A strong academic foundation in data structures, algorithms, object orient design, databases, and network security (GPA 3.86)- Hands-on project experience with Python, Java, Rust, JavaScript, R, and SQL- Familiarity with Git, Jira, Trello, VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, and cloud collaboration suites. Looking ahead: I’m eager to apply my skills to real-world software engineering or data science roles where I can contribute to innovative teams, learn from experienced mentors, and continue developing technologies that empower others.
