About Sean P.

Hi, I’m Sean - a product-oriented software engineer. I develop custom SaaS apps for B2B & B2C use cases and build systems that help apps and organizations scale. Throughout my engineering career, I’ve mastered full-stack development across several frameworks, architectures and languages.My strongest suit is programming data-driven web applications with engaging user interfaces and scalable backends. As I’ve worked on increasingly complex projects, the best practices of code maintainability, built-in security and test driven development have guided my engineering approach to produce excellent software. With my experience implementing the full depth of application features and supporting infrastructure both in distributed and monolithic app architectures, I’ve grown to much prefer distributed systems and now specialize in microservice-based development.At Enginectra, I have led development on Rails and React-based SaaS apps that automate entire segments of previously tedious engineering projects. I’ve also developed with NestJS/TypeScript, FastAPI/Python and several frontend frameworks. My most recent work involves designing and building a unified API Gateway for our services, writing packages to consolidate cross-cutting concerns and building admin interfaces as single page applications with Next.js. With a preference for Cloudflare Workers and AWS Cloud, I spend a lot of my time engineering decoupled microservices that overcome our worst performance bottlenecks (e.g. rate-limiting from target APIs) to seamlessly connect all our systems.At work or not, I am ravenous for gaining skills to create boundary-pushing functionality. Most recently, I’ve mastered machine learning development and am now AWS Certified for the Machine Learning Specialty (MLS-C01). Both in personal projects and at work, I am leveraging the best emerging tools for building custom AI into systems – in this pursuit, my current choice is Google’s Agent Development Kit.
