About Sean Sefsik

As the Senior Director of Safety, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs & Labor Relations at Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc, I oversee the Compliance and Regulatory aspects of our rail operations across Canada, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Furthermore, since September 2023 I have taken on the additional role of Labor Relations for the entire Region. As Senior Director, Labor Relations, I work hand in hand with the various railways in standardizing the negotiation, interpretation and application of the different collective agreements including grievance settlement and resolution. My extended role within the HR department has also lead me to review and develop various regulatory HR policies. I have an EMBA from McGill HEC and more than 20 years of experience in the rail industry, spanning from locomotive engineer to General Manager and now Senior Director. I have successfully delivered multiple projects, managed operations and budgets, and improved safety practices in various roles and contexts. I am passionate about enhancing the safety culture, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation in the rail and transportation sector. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as well as a strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
