I have significant experience teaching brass instruments, piano, concert band and jazz band in the Fraser Valley/Lower Mainland area as private instructor, clinician and classroom teacher. Implementing unique and creative pedagogical techniques, I have a proven track record of meeting high performance standards by inspiring students to realize their potential as young musicians and develop a love for music. I have been performing on the trumpet and piano for almost two decades. As a trumpet player, I have performed in many groups including the Moonliters Big Band, Bruce James Orchestra, Trinity Western University Orchestra, Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Fraser Valley Symphony Orchestra, The Gospel Connection, Jen Hodge All Star Band and many other jazz combos, musicals/plays, brass quintets and small ensembles. I am well-versed in both classical and jazz styles. As a piano player, I have experience in the styles of jazz/pop/blues/country as well as classical piano music.
