About Sean Taylor

Sean is a seasoned advertising industry professional with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He began his career by completing a Bachelor of Business - Advertising at RMIT. His early experiences at DDB (USP) Needham, where he initially bought media in the Media Department, provided valuable insights. Sean quickly discovered his passion lay in selling media, prompting him to explore roles at Southern Cross, Austereo, Bond Media, and The 10 Network. Driven by his entrepreneurial instincts, Sean launched his first advertising business at the age of 30. Through strategic client acquisitions including Nestle Chilled Dairy, Nestle Peters, Lion Nathan, Novartis, Mondelez, Disney Consumer Products, Kellogg's, PepsiCo, and others, he established a thriving enterprise with offices spanning Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. After a successful decade, Sean orchestrated the sale of his business to the Photon Group (Enero), where he continued to lead as a Group CEO for several years. Subsequently, Sean ventured into another advertising endeavour, which garnered partial acquisition by WPP. His pivotal role in building Ogilvy Action within the Ogilvy Group showcased his leadership prowess. He later assumed the position of Group Managing Director at Ogilvy Group in Melbourne, managing esteemed clients such as Coca-Cola, AAMI, Bank of Melbourne, BMW, among others. During his tenure at WPP, Sean flourished in various senior roles, culminating in his appointment as CEO of VMLY & R Commerce - the role he held at the time his business was fully acquired by WPP. As of 2021, Sean is actively involved in several ventures and currently holds the positions of: Prophet - Executive Chairman: a pioneering predictive business intelligence software that utilises Nobel prize-winning mathematics to provide real-time analytics. Yowie Group Ltd - Executive Chairman: a small cap PLC specialising in the sale and distribution of Yowie, Bluey, AFL, and NRL licensed products across Asia Pac and the US. Magic - Executive Chairman: a state-of-the-art digital marketing agency grounded in complex mathematics and data science, with offices located in Melbourne, LA, and the UK. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success, Sean remains a dynamic figure in the advertising landscape. His ongoing investments in a variety of endeavours ensure he consistently drives innovation and growth in the industry.
