About Sean Terrill

As a trained marine benthic ecologist, working with the Marine Operations and Disposal Area Monitoring System (DAMOS) programs within the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), I contribute to the planning and execution of marine sampling and surveying efforts as well as the analysis and reporting of biological and environmental data for federal projects across the New England District. I specialize in all aspects of benthic community analysis, from sampling to interpretation, for the purpose of National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) reporting and compliance. I help plan and perform hydroacoustic surveys (singlebeam and sidescan) and video surveys (ROV and drop frame) in order to characterize coastal marine habitats as well as delineate and monitor critical natural resources, such as eelgrass beds, over space and time. I assist with fisheries research at federal projects across New England by conducting habitat mapping and electroshocking surveys to document and monitor fishery conditions and map fishery habitat resources. I use technical expertise and experience to support the DAMOS program monitor the recovery of benthic resources in areas exposed to dredged sediments. I prepare NEPA, CWA, and other federal documents such as Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), Suitability Determinations (SDs), and Environmental Assessments (EAs).
