I began my education in accounting back in high school at the age of 16, where I was introduced to the basics of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement. From these basic statements, I learned the structure of Bank Reconciliation Statements, Cash Flows Statements, and Trial Balances during my college and university years.Since May 2019, I have worked as a lifeguard with H2O Recreation and Management, where I have learned useful skills such as communication, discipline, and politeness. During my lifeguarding career, I have rescued 3 minors from drowning.Beginning in early June 2022, I started working full-time on contract as an accountant for Car-On Auto Sales. The vast majority of my work pertains to filing invoices. I used Microsoft Excel to determine the gross margin for each vehicle sale.In November 2022, after a successful interview, I signed a contract with Ashcroft Homes. I left Car-On Auto Sales and began working in a brand environment for Ashcroft. I used Microsoft Excel to handle reconciliations and generate financial statements.Beginning in mid-March of 2023, I signed a contract to work for ASL Agrodrain Limited as an Accounts Payable Clerk, as the company needed a replacement for one of their employees on maternity leave. I used Microsoft Excel and CMiC, an online accounting software, to process vendor invoices. Occasionally, I would also pro-rate some calculations regarding the costs.Wanting to transition into the non-profit sector, I signed a temporary full-time contract in February of 2024 with the International Institute of Business Analysis to work as an Accounts Payable Specialist. I entered vendor invoices and maintained the vendor details.Afterwards, starting on the first day of May 2024, I secured my first permanent accounting position as a Junior Accountant at Empowered Networks. This position revolved around a variety of tasks, including bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and more. I would analyze and enter data in NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, and the company's bank account.Starting in October 2024, I began my career in the public sector in the United States, specifically at the Wisconsin Army National Guard. This position involved me handling Accounting Technician tasks. My tasks involved ensuring that government purchase transactions, official checks, bills between fund centers, and other financial tasks were completed. Unfortunately, by May 2025, I was laid off through the Deferred Resignation Program as temporary technicians were being laid off at the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
