About Seeret Sooch

Being a business student and having a small of business of my own, I am well aware of how competitive the industry can be. So, here is my selling pitch to you about me as a person. My name is Seeret Sooch, I am currently a second-year student at Kwantlen Polytechnic University working my way to achieve a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting. I am an entrepreneur and run a business called “Woven Together”. This business stemmed out of the SFU Bright Ideas Entrepreneur Spring 2017 Competition. Woven Together won third place at this competition and has continued to grow since then. At Woven Together we make and sell beaded bracelets to bring awareness to issues surrounding women’s equality. The aim is to empower vulnerable women through donation efforts. Keeping this mission in mind we donate 25% of generated sales to local charities. We have donated to the “Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter” and also have donated to “Light Workers Seva”. As our business has grown, we have entered into a consignment-based contract to sell our merchandise with Funk’N’Frost located at Guildford Town Centre. I am a part-time Sales Associate at the retail store H&M where I do many different tasks to help the store function more smoothly. I have been at this job for a little over two and half years and currently am still employed there. Some of my tasks include: monitoring the sales floor to ensure it is a safe and clean environment for customers; operating the cash register to process transactions; and overseeing the fitting room. Being responsible for such tasks has allowed me to communicate with individuals from various walks of life and it has allowed me to be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.
