About Seila Sar

I am a professional project and program evaluator with strong research and results-based monitoring and evaluation skills. I have more than 10 years of experience conducting and managing multidisciplinary research and evaluation with various academic institutions, international non-profit organisations, and the UN agencies. My research and evaluation experience covers various social and public health issues including media development, governance and human rights, gender-based violence, environment, agriculture, nutrition, housing, water and sanitation, and communicable and non-communicable diseases. I also have significant experience in data collection and analysis using advanced statistical methods. I am currently serving as a Regional Research and Evaluation Manager for Asia at Internews Network overseeing all monitoring, evaluation, research and learning activities implemented in more than 20 countries across Asia and the Pacific. At Internews, I have supported several complex projects that require a range of sophisticated methods such as Social Network Analysis and Outcome Harvesting, to evaluate the project outcomes and impacts. Prior to Internews, I previously worked for various institutions including the Royal University of Agriculture, BBC Media Action, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation, and The Asia Foundation. I have written academic articles, research reports, research bulletins, targeting briefs, and blogs for publication and presented in various local and international conferences. I obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Food Sciences and Public Health from the University of Queensland, Australia.
