About Selesitila Matagi

Completed 12 week student teaching requirement at Monticello Academy in West Valley City, UT. Achieved Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in 2021 along with completing and passing the EdTPA assessment and am currently licensed as a Elementary teacher in UT. In Sept. of 2021 I was hired as a contract substitute teacher at South Kearns Elementary. This position includes many roles with in the elementary school setting. My main role is to fill in for teachers that are absent and the job has not been picked up. This requires me to be flexible and able to adapt to any classroom environment. It also includes me being able to teach any grade level from K-5th grade within this school. I have also helped in the library, lunchroom, and in classrooms. I have aided in implimenting the Playworks program back into the school and was the in school leader for the Playworks coaches for the 21-22 school year. I taught a six week summer school program for Kinder going into 1st grade with an increase of 5-6 reading of nonsense words class wide. This year 22-23 I have been assigned to teach a 45 minute writing lessons on Tuesday's to all grade levels as the teachers had PLC meetings. Experienced Special Education Paraeducator with a demonstrated history of working in the primary education industry. Skilled in Retail, Cashiering, People Management, Accounts Payable, and Time Management. Strong education professional with a Associate's degree focused in General Studies from Salt Lake Community College.
