About Selim Gencoglu

Hello all. I am looking for a challenging job, where I can work with design professionals. A job that will nurture me, teach me new things, and enable my career make a greater leap.I worked as an Industrial Designer at ASELSAN, a Fortune 100 Defense Industry Company, for 13 years, and designed more than 50+ products including night vision goggles, thermal imagers, binoculars, weapon sights, flight helmets, joysticks, control panels, various carrying cases and accessories. I proudly have my name in 8 utility model patents. In 2017, I founded Element Product Design, and continue to design and develop defense industry products, professional products, and medical products. In just 5 years, I managed to work with 30+ companies with more than 50 projects. Recently, in December 2021 at the Design Week Turkey, the binoculars that I designed for 3E EOS Electro-Optics Company, have been awarded Good Design Turkey Award. Recently, they have received Big See Product Design Award 2022.On the academic side, I taught at 3rd year Design Studio at METU, 3rd and 4th year Design Studio at Gazi and Atılım Universities, also taught Design for Competition at TOBB University here in Ankara, Turkey. For the last 6 years, I am teaching Freehand Drawing Techniques I-II, Computer Aided Design Autodesk Fusion 360 at Atılım University. I am passionate about industrial design. I love mentoring my students. I am a good listener, quick learner, and detailed oriented team player. I am good at managing, leading, planning and prioritizing tasks.
