About Selim Tuna

I graduated from Sakarya University, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2013 and started my working life after my education as an electrical engineer at Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Üretim A.Ş, which is Turkey's first private geothermal power plant investor, and continued to work as Electrical Department Manager between 2015 and 2018. I took part in the entire project and commissioning process of DORA 3 Unit 1 & 2 and DORA 4 power plants within the Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. At the same time, I carried out the planning and execution of the operation and maintenance operations of DORA 1, DORA 2, DORA 3 Unit 1 & 2 and DORA 4 power plants. I am currently working as a project manager and consultant in the geothermal energy sector with the GMK Energy since 2018. While I contribute to the design and supply process of many geothermal power plants in these works, I also work as the project manager within the scope of the geothermal heated greenhouse and district heating system projects besides the geothermal power plants of GMK ENERJİ. In many domestic and international geothermal projects carried out by GMK Energy, within the scope of project and consultancy services, starting from the exploration period of geothermal investments, programming, evaluation and reporting of geological, geophysical, drilling and well test studies, as well as project design and superstructure facilities of these investments. I take on various tasks in the preparation of cost analyzes and feasibility reports. In addition, I work on performance and efficiency analyzes of geothermal power plants and efficiency improvement studies. In summary, I carry out the programming, follow-up and reporting of all the works carried out by GMK Energy. I also have publications and studies on the operational processes and digitalization of geothermal power plants. In addition to these, I am continuing my master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineer at Adnan Menderes University and I am continuing my thesis studies under the title of "Electricity Consumption Demand Forecasting and Renewable Energy Need with Artificial Neural Networks".
